- How fresh?
- suuuuuuper fresh! : )! The Fruit Stand has two ovens in the back of the shop that are on pretty much all day. We can guarantee that your bread will be at least warm if not hot right out of the oven! mmm mmm.
- How many loaves are baked everyday in the fruit stand?
- Normally, the Keanae Landing Fruit Stand will bake around 100 loaves of bread a day, but it really depends upon the traffic of visitors. If it is a busy day, we may end up serving over 150 loaves!
- And the recipe?
- Aunty Sandy Hueu is the owner of the Keanae Landing Fruit Stand along with the Banana Bread recipe. Shes cool like that.
- Where is Keanae located?
- Keanae is a very small small town located on the East Side of Maui. (State of Hawaii). You can find us on your way to Hana, route 36. The peninsulla is the next left after the Keanae YMCA and the Keanae Arboretum. Follow the road down for about a minute or two, and you'll see us on the right side of the road. Call us if you get lost (808-248-8031), although I doubt you will have any reception out here in the rainforest.
- Does the KLFS sell anything besides banana bread?
- Yes, we serve cold beverages, small snacks, local fruit, homemade candy, light meals and more!
- I lost my directions for the banana bread dry mix....
- Directions: Put dry mix into a large bowl. Add 2 cups of mashed bananas (previously frozen). Mix in 1 cup of hot butter and blend well. Scoop into four well greased mini loaf pans. Bake at 340 on gas ovens/ 330 on electric for 20 minutes. If the bread is golden brown, remove from oven, if not bake bread for 3 minutes at a time until the bread achieves the golden brown color. Remove from oven, cool to a warm temperature and Enjoy!
